Toms + McNally Design is a design focused architectural office located in Hamilton, ON. Our work varies in scale, use, and complexity. Running through our projects is a commitment to providing a innovative design solutions specific to our client and their project.
Our projects include institutional projects for the cities of Hamilton and Burlington, master planning studies, small-scale developments, restaurants, custom houses, church additions and other commercial projects.
We are a small office with 6 staff and successful candidates will be exposed to all aspects of a project - from design, detailing, tendering, construction administration and on some projects construction management.

Architectural Intern /
Junior Architect
Job responsibilities will include:
assisting senior staff and partners in the preparation of design documents, permit documents, and promotional materials
part of the team to develop conceptual & schematic designs. It is expected that this will be initially under supervision of senior staff, the level of supervision reducing as expectations and skills are established or developed
develop working/permit drawings
develop diagrams & other visual aids to communicate design intention
preparation of presentation materials for client or public meetings
participation in client meetings at all stages of a project
participation in site review
general promotion of the firm
Required Education & Skills:
- Graduate of professional Architecture Degree program (ie, M.Arch)
A successful candidate will have a "good to strong" working knowledge of :
Revit (beneficial to have some experience creating families)
AutoCAD
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Microsoft Word, Excel, etc
Knowledge of Rhino or 3ds is a benefit.
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience
Minimum 1 year experience with Revit
Architectural Technologist

Minimum 5 years experience
